How Attorneys Can Help

We of the legal community are among the millions of Americans who have significantly benefited from the willingness of Ohio’s veterans and active-duty servicemembers to voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way. In a very real sense, one might say that they have already paid their legal fees. If you’d like to help return the favor, you may volunteer to represent servicemembers in need through either of OMVLAP’s programs. Please click on the links below to complete the online registration for either (or both) programs, and we will be in touch with you soon!

To volunteer to provide civil representation to a low income veteran or active servicemember on a pro bono basis – primarily in areas of landlord/tenant issues, consumer debt, uncontested divorce, employment, estate planning, and/or VA benefits – please complete the online registration form for Operation Legal Help Ohio by clicking the button below.

To volunteer to provide civil representation at a paid rate, but one substantially lower than your normal fees, to active-duty servicemembers whose rank is E-6 or lower, please complete the online registration form for Legal Salute Ohio by clicking on the button below.

The Ohio Military/Veterans Legal Assistance Project provides legal representation to low-income veterans and servicemembers – and this project can only be sustained with help from people like you!
